About Us

Mountain Town Carpentry is owned and operated by James Carr of Asheville, NC. James has been building and remodeling homes since 1993. His carpentry experience began in Winter Park, CO building custom post and beam style log homes designed to withstand mountain winters at 9000 feet with 500 inches of annual snowfall. Since moving to Asheville in 2003, James has earned his General Contractor’s License and focused on custom homes as well as additions to existing homes. When he is not working James enjoys spending time on the local trails with his wife Sunny and their dog Aspen, or taking in some great live music downtown
